I mean if you adjust the FDAs own risk/harm analysis to account for children who are healthy you'd have to vaccinate 12,000 to prevent 1 hospitalization. 3 Million to prevent one death. If I'm doing it right...but why is it me doing it and not the FDA? The world is upside down.

Vinay, You are too kind. The children are at no risk and the teachers are at less risk at school than virtually anywhere else in their lives. Your prior piece that laid this out was brilliant -- this is just more of the same. This is power-hungry/confused/fearful/stupid/use-whatever-excuse-you-want bureaucrats (including, sadly, medical bureaucrats) acting without regard to the consequences on some monomaniacal course where apparently the only important thing is "Covid". I am ashamed to be associated with these physicians these days although I personally keep trying to fight the good fight as do you. Thank goodness for places like Florida that have demonstrated with actual real-world experiments that this is all trash. How much of the US can ignore this real data and go on with these insane mandates I am unable to understand. For some reason it makes me feel better that you cannot understand them either. Wish there were more either/both of us could do.

The damage these mandates are doing will resonate for years to come. My friend vaccinated her 5 and 10 yo only to find the 10 yo with covid 2 weeks after the last vaccination. She thanks the vaccine for the mild illness when in reality, more than likely the illness would have been mild either way.

I am A-ok with parents making whichever choice they decide. I am not ok with mandating my 9 yo's to be vaccinated when they already had covid. I know the mandates are coming in Massachusetts but I am not alone in the pushback.

Taiwan is moving forward with vaccine mandates for several categories of adults. Despite this heavy-handed approach, they halted the second vaccine dose for children ages 12-15, and have not approved the vaccine at all for younger age groups. Also, countless countries have eliminated Moderna for younger age cohorts due to the risk/benefit analysis. And yet, here in the US it is full steam ahead. Disgraceful.

It seems so simple. This is what was supposed to have happened in the US. I watched (most) of the FDA VRBPAC hearing and listened to your interview with Dr. Meissner, and the clear takeaway (to me) was that the the EUA should be approved for high risk kids only. But then the CDC just disregarded that recommendation, without giving any rationale as far as I’m aware. Now of course all the pediatricians and “experts” just repeat what the CDC said, and anyone who tries to offer the nuance provided by VRBPAC members is dismissed as an anti-Vaxxer. This is one of many Covid policies that has been incredibly frustrating. As a parent with young kids, this one stings harder than most.

As Omicron arrives to end Delta's reign, the mandates for anyone appear more foolish. Aside from risks associated with OAS, the vaccines aren't particular effective with Delta and less so for Omicron. The virus battlefield has shifted and policies are fighting a previous war. It remains to be seen if there has been harm to vaccinated children long term as variants of SARs-CoV-2 become endemic. We may regret the fear that pushed caution aside.

Many people's feelings and so thoughts about vaccination resemble religious fervour not just for themselves, but to force the injections on everyone else. It is like a purification ritual - liquid, injected, by a member of the priestly class of doctors or nurses.

This runs into well understood safety problems as the lower age limit is dropped to children, toddlers and newborns.

The fervour is driven in part by instinctual and conscious, rational desires to avoid anyone who could be infectious in a pandemic - so avoid those not yet anointed in the purification ritual to which one has already undergone. "Other" them. Punish them. Force them to comply - for their own good and so we can all get back to normal.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive is also driven by billions of dollars in profits and the failure of many doctors, those in government and most lay people to imagine that something simple - specifically proper vitamin D supplementation such as 0.125mg 5000 IU/day for 70kg bodyweight - is needed to solve numerous complex health problems, including the rapid spread and high level of harm and death from COVID-19. Without such supplementation, most people's 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels are 5 to 25ng/ml, when we all need 50ng/ml for our immune systems to work properly. To boost levels in 4 hours we need about 1mg of calcifediol, single oral dose, for 70kg bodyweight. This _is_ 25-hydroxyvitamin D: https://nutritionmatters.substack.com/p/calcifediol-25-hydroxyvitamin-d-or and https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sunilwimalawansa_multisystem-inflammatory-syndrome-mis-activity-6815294839769436160-99qJ/ .

As evidence for the collective irrationality of vaccine policy and popular support, hardly anyone knows that influenza vaccines do not reduce hospitalisation or deaths. The evidence is crystal clear: In the UK, the levels of influenza vaccine adoption rise from 27% at 64 years to 57% at 66 years, due to government promotion. This as absolutely no impact on hospitalisation or death rates when graphed by age. See: Anderson et al. 2020: https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/abs/10.7326/M19-3075 and my article:

This research was done by vaccine proponents and should have been news all around the world. This research does not directly reflect on the COVID-19 vaccines, but it shows that the beliefs and motivations of vaccine proponents should not be taken on face value as being true, just because they have expertise and responsibilities in this field.

Vaccine policy and popular support is based on all sorts of false information, such as implying smallpox like benefits for a coronavirus disease, the cleansing and "other'-avoidance fervours, the corruption of billions of dollars in profits, the elevation of the medical profession to crucial roles in disease prevention when 5000 IU vitamin D3 a day would do a better job etc.

The UK is now offering a vaccine (I assume Pfizer?) to 5 to 11 year olds. Do you have any data on the pros and cons of a 5 to 11 year old getting vaccinated in the UK (based on the vaccine that is being offered in the UK)?

I received a letter from my kids' school via the NHS, and while they said that covid had risks (which they then outlined), they just said that the vaccines were "safe and effective". I'm not sure exactly what safe and effective means in this context. Can you please elaborate?

This study doesn't look great in terms of myocarditis but it's still a pre-print so not sure how legit it is?

Based on the discrepancies between UK and mandates (for parts of USA)- is there not sufficient evidence to launch a legal challenge to mandating for 5-15 year olds.

Please dive into This amazing new data on kids stronger than adults immune response, proof of strong protection post infection and evidence supporting 2 doses in non immune but only 1 dose post infection for extremely high and long lasting protection (which would mean no need for boosters- at least in healthy kids - hard to go from exceedingly high protection to higher). See this thread on the multiple new studies from the UK. https://twitter.com/shamezladhani/status/1473809256973574157?s=21

A summer camp in Portland, Maine announced today that all campers must be vaccinated. They implemented this mandate after we signed up and paid. We now have a problem on our hands. Tell the child they can’t go or get them vaccinated. This is very upsetting. I’m fully vaccinated and boosted but for my child who had a very mild case of covid I was really pausing to see more data.
